Tanya was born 1975 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk and currently lives in Overstrand on the North Norfolk coast of England. She graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Fine Art (painting and printmaking) in 2004. In 2006 she graduated from City College Norwich with a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education following training in the Art Department.

Tanya exhibits work at The Garden House Gallery and The Art House Cafe in neighboring town, Cromer and takes part in Norfolk and Norwich Open Studios. In 2016 she entered her first art competition Paint Out, where artists are given short sessions to complete landscape paintings out-doors. She won 2nd prize at Wells and a Judge's Commendation at Norwich.

Inspired by Romanticism and Impressionism, Tanya's work celebrates the natural beauty of Norfolk. She paints plein air seascapes and landscapes in oils onto board and much of her work is produced within walking distance of her home. She believes that painting outdoors is an invigorating and demanding process which pushes her to create fresh and lively work. When not up to braving the elements, she paints from edited photographic references at home.
